X-Neuro

This is a character design sheet for the main character in a group project/animation called X-Neuro. All members of the project designed their own neurodivergent character and my design, Layla Bagaoisan, was chosen as the main. The goal of the project is to educate young people about mental disabilities, specifically ADHD. AFABs (assigned females at birth) and Asians are less likely to get diagnosed with ADHD and as a Filipina woman with ADHD, I based Layla off myself. I gave her the surname “Bagaoisan” because it means “to grow wings” in Ilocano. Our goal was to design a character that everyone adored, to make others embrace ADHD, and to change the minds of parents who refuse to get their kids diagnosed due to bias.
