Raya Redesign

Raya and the Last Dragon is a movie based on Southeast Asian culture. The movie is a mash up of multiple different cultures and ultimately ends up in nothing Not to mention that only one person of the entire voice acting cast is Southeast Asian. ONE. How come Chinese culture can get a movie, but all Southeast Asian cultures are mashed into one? Imagine a girl wearing a Vietnamese rice hat, Malaysian dress, and Burmese jewelry. It does not make sense.

My friends and I, who are Southeast Asian, came together to redesign parts of the movie. I redesigned Raya, the main character, so she represents Filipino culture. From left to right are 3 variations based off Mindanaoan, Visayan, and Luzonian cultures. Rather than mashing different cultures from different countries, my friends designed their own Raya based off their own culture.
